Soap can be technical, oh yes!

Lots of sweat and tears went into trying this triple layer goodness last night!

I won't include this in my Botanical Soap Making course yet as I think it's not very beginner friendly and I don't wanna overwhelm my students!

But I am thinking about posting it to those who complete the course if they want to challenge themselves! I just need to film it again as I lost the footage!

Can't believe it's almost time for the big launch, I spent the day going over everything today and to see if anything's missing, excited is an understatement for how I feel today ❤️

1 . Do I need experience?

- No, this course is ideal for beginners or for people with little soap making experience.

2. Do you teach hot process or cold process method?

- It is cold process method.

2. Can I use kitchen tools?

- Yes, you can use what you already have like stick blender, bowls, kitchen scale, even a cake loaf tin instead of buying soap moulds to start with.

But you will need a digital thermometer and a face mask and goggles of some sort to handle lye safely.

3. Is it safe?

- Yes, you’ll learn lye safety in detail, I prepared a full PDF Guide on Lye Safety & Handling

4. Do I need special oils?

- I use common ones like olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, sunflower oil which you can find in any supermarket.

For some recipes I will use sweet almond oil, avocado oil, apricot kernel oils, shea butter, cocoa butters but don't worry these are pretty easy to get hold of on Amazon or from wholesalers which I have provided a list for US, UK and Canada.

I have also provided a Oils Substitutions PDF Guide, so if you can't get hold of some, you can substitute them with what you have.

This soap is so special.

Do you wanna know why?

I've infused bay, rosemary, lavender and olive leaf in olive oil first.

I then used bay, peppermint & rosemary and infused them in tea.

So it has double goodness.

I used olive oil, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil and some jojoba oil.

I haven't use any essential oils for this soap as I love the natural scent of soap especially when it is infused with so many botanicals.

The colour came out as a soft light brown/beige, reminds me of all the earthy colours.

Do you wanna know why?

I've infused bay, rosemary, lavender and olive leaf in olive oil first.

I then used bay, peppermint & rosemary and infused them in tea.

So it has double goodness.

I used olive oil, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil and some jojoba oil.

I haven't use any essential oils for this soap as I love the natural scent of soap especially when it is infused with so many botanicals.

The colour came out as a soft light brown/beige, reminds me of all the earthy colours.

I am growing both peppermint and spearmint and use them in my soaps. Mint is one of the easiest herb you can grow in your garden or in a pot.

I recently bought these black drying baskets to dry my herbs and flowers from the garden and I am loving it!

Once you dry your mints, you can make them into small pieces simply by rolling in your hands, put them in a jar and use them in your soaps either by adding 1 teaspoon to your soap mix or by infusing the tea.

Give it a try, the nature mother has all we need, we don't need nasty chemicals, synthetic dyes, let's keep it natural for the benefit of our skin and our nature!

I created this beautiful coloured soap today by using madder root powder, 2 teaspoons for 1 kg soap gave this colour, I have seen deeper shades of this soap on the internet as well and will also try them. I mixed the powder with lye at the beginning. Normally I make this soap with pink clay and it turns out a beautiful pastel pink colour but wanted to try something new today.

For essential oils, I used my all time favourite Geranium Rose, a timeless rose scent that is very popular in hand soaps, liquid soaps and natural shampoos these days.

I love using only natural ingredients in my soaps, kind to skin, kind to our nature.
